Midway Heights is participating in the
Columbia Public Schools Verses Jefferson City Public Schools challenge
November 5th-November 30th
THE CHALLENGE
For the second year in a row, Columbia Public Schools has been challenged by Jefferson City Public Schools to raise money for the Honor Flight. The goal is to raise as much as possible and more than Jeff City during the month of November.
WHAT IS HONOR FLIGHT
Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for their sacrifices. Honor Flight transports our heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans - World War II survivors, along with those other veterans who may be terminally ill. It costs $300 to sponsor one veteran on the flight.
WHAT CAN YOU DO
Help send a veteran on an Honor Flight and BEAT Jefferson City Public Schools in their challenge by bringing in your spare change.
Classrooms will be collecting spare change from November 5th - November 30th
We will have Patriotic Days on:
Friday, November 9th Tuesday, November 20th Friday, November 30th
Wear Red, White and Blue - And bring a quarter or whatever change you can spare
Teachers will be raising money by giving $1.00 for each day they were jeans through the month of November.
Thank you in advance for any spare change you can put toward
this cause to help honor our veterans.
Let’s see how many veterans we can honor through our support of the Honor Flight
and of course beat Jeff City!
Columbia Public Schools goal is for each classroom to raise $10.00 to support sending veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit their memorials.
