5th Graders launch a Weather Balloon!

Mr. Jonathan Morrand assisted the 5th graders in getting the grant and launching the balloon!

Several special guests joined the 5th graders including KOMU-TV8's Eric Aldrich!

The latest great news from our Midway 5th grade climate team on the weather balloon launch...A farmer in IL found the weather balloon with the camera and the cell phone.  Ms. Stewart drove 150 miles to retrieve it (probably a trip that took several times longer for her than the balloon!), and the camera which had been set to video took a video of most of the journey, including footage from above the clouds showing the curvature of the earth!
